09. A pairing that I love: Faramir/Eowyn, Celeborn/Galadriel

12. My five favorite characters: Denethor, Faramir, Boromir, Eomer, Eowyn
14. Which character I am most like: Hard to say, but I eat like a hobbit, so probably Sam?
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I once wrote a very AU fic about a rival claimant for the throne of Gondor. Trufax.

08. The character I'd slap: Ron Weasley
09. A pairing that I love: Lupin/Tonks, Arthur/Molly

14. Which character I am most like: Hermione? IDK.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I secretly ship Draco/Hermione.

08. The character I'd slap: Robin Hood!
09. A pairing that I love: Will/Djaq, John/Alice
10. A pairing that I hate: Allan/Marian...just can't see that one AT ALL
11. Favorite character: Will Scarlett
12. My five favorite characters: Will, Allan, Djaq, Little John, Sheriff Vaysey
14. Which character I am most like: Probably Djaq.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I like Richard Armitage a lot. Just not Gisborne.

I dabble in a couple of other fandoms, but my involvement is way too limited to warrant memeage.

Kate should not be shipped with anyone (except possibly her braid).

Snape should be shipped with Lily, or at least he really wanted to be. None of the other Snape ships make much sense to me. In fact, I don't get all the Snape love in fandom, but I suspect Allan Rickman has something to do with all that.

It's sort of like how nobody in RH would have paid any attention to Guy of Gisborne if Richard Armitage wasn't Teh Hawt! ;)

Maybe a pot on her head? I could ship her with that.

I think Rickman has everything to do with that. Brilliant as the Sheriff, brilliant as Snape. He can play just gleefully evil or nastily evil and I love it.

I passed on RH as too cheesy until Turk Flu. Then saw Guy and his menacing sniff and stopped cold. And lo, a fangirl was born.

I watched RH after I'd seen all these promos on BBC America. I'm a history buff, and when I saw it was a show about Plantagenet England, I was on it like flies on...well, you get what I mean. ;)

After the first episode, I nearly quit, because not only was it NOT historically accurate, it was just plain ol' crack. But I stuck with it because I was bored, and by 1x04, I was hooked. Will getting hotter over the course of the first few episodes did not hurt, lol.

Historical accuracy? What's that? I've become a Plantagenet buff since (PJ has something to do with that-so deliciously neurotic).

Will did get hotter. I loved him in 2x04, and really started appreciating him after that. When I rewatched S1, the appreciation only grew. I like Will. As far as being with someone IRL, Will is the kind I would go for, even if Guy is sex on legs to me.

There's nothing wrong with how Guy looks, but as a character, I just can't get behind him, because some of what he does is reprehensible, and some of it is just downright stupid.

I'm generally all about the characters who are somehow good and brave and noble, in spite of being thwarted by their circumstances, and that's probably why I like Will so much. And well, you have to be sort of awesome to deserve someone like Djaq too. ;)

Guy is a one-night stand because of the pretty. But no more cause I wouldn't be able to be around him day-to-day without wanting to smack him. Will is who I'd want to be with, because he would treat a girl well and is someone to be proud of. And yes, it takes much awesome to win Djaq's love, cause she's made of it.

As a Gisborne fan, were you pleased with his story arc in S3? I think it's nice to give a character a redemptive storyline, but I thought it was all a bit of a copout, fwiw.

Actually I was. Flipping him around so quickly was weird to me, though. I was glad he finally saw past his own nose, but it was fast. A man like that wouldn't be capable of changing so quickly. That said, I'm glad he sacrificed for someone else at the end. He'd been taking for so long, it was about time he gave something.

Most of the last 3-4 eps of S3 seemed like a copout. Very soapy and convenient. A bit lazy.

With the exception of the three eps featuring Prince John, I thought the entire S3 was written in a very lazy way. There were a lot of storylines that either didn't make sense, or weren't used properly. There was very little character development, and not much care paid to continuity with the first two series.

I understand the writers' problem though. They had a couple of episodes to introduce four major characters, one of whom had to take over the series lead in S4. That's a tough break...but still.

As much as I liked the whole Gisborne/Meg thing, it didn't really make much sense to me, and I don't understand exactly what switch was tripped in Gisborne's brain that he suddenly changed like that.

I was noticing the other day it seemed S1-2 had a series producer, but I didn't notice one for S3. There seemed to be no guiding hand.

The existing characters suffered greatly with so many new introductions. With the exception of PJ, who flew in and flew right back out again, I think most of it was handled badly.

I am one of those who didn't really like the Guy/Meg thing. It seemed very convenient, and the old Guy would have just sneered at her and walked away. But maybe it was because Guy had really hit rock bottom at that point, he really figured he had nothing else to lose and no reason to hold onto what he'd been before. Facing the axe will do strange things to people. I was actually more surprised by Robin's about-face regarding Guy.

I stopped paying much attention to Robin after 1x08. Honestly.

That said, I always thought Robin's about-face was really surprising in view of the fact that Marian is still dead. And still by Gisborne's hand. Can Robin really forgive Gisborne for that? I'm not sure.

Really? Why?

I don't think he could. He carried grudges, IMO.

Because of Djaq, and because he put his pissing contest with Gisborne ahead of her life and safety.

Up until that point, I really bought into Robin's message of love and charity. But in that episode, it became clear to me that Robin was just a good soldier for King Richard, and I was done with him. Djaq forgave him, but I'm not sure I could. ;)

(Yes, I'm maybe just a bit over-invested in this fandom, lol!)

Ah yes. I recall now. No offense to Djaq, but my shallowness at Guy being tied to a tree comes out regarding that ep.

Don't feel bad for not forgiving. I still haven't forgiven Robin his treatment of Much (like 90% of the time), the gang's treatment of Allan, or even Marian's treatment of Guy.

Oh, yeah. What Robin says to Much in 1x13 is unforgivable, IMO. I don't care what his state of mind was at the time...you just don't talk to Much like that. Ever.

The gang's treatment of Allan...eh, that's a harder one for me. I still haven't watched the episode where Allan dies (refuse to see it on principle), so I don't know how/why the gang turned on him there. But in S2, he sort of earned their reproach, IMO...esp. Djaq and Will who were his BFFs. It wasn't Allan's finest moment, in a life that had many not-fine moments.

Marian's treatment of Guy is another issue I'm sort of on the fence about. She does sort of manipulate and mislead him, but (a) she's a spy, and that's what spies do, and (b) Gisborne does make it so very easy...by being blind and naive where Marian is concerned. Don't you just want to hit him upside the head and tell him to just wake the heck up sometimes!?

Robin's treatment of Much is bad from the beginning, but it led to Much's confession in the Barn Scene of Ick, which I thought was one of the most powerful moments of the entire show.

I can tell you what happened, if you want, without the visuals. In my mind, Will/Djaq forgave Allan when he went to the Holy Land with them. It's a lot of time to spend not talking to him on ship.

You make valid points, I just hate watching a woman lead someone so obviously starved (deprived if you like) for even a scrap of affection on that way. I can't help but think there might have been a better way. I have hollered myself hoarse at Guy's denseness many times. I have few illusions about him.

I buy that, or at least I think he reached some sort of detente with them on that journey. I'm pretty sure Djaq forgave him instantly, but I don't think Will is the forgiving kind. But he probably remembers that Allan saved his life once, and Will got the girl, so he's probably feeling generous. (I do wonder how Allan felt about the whole Will/Djaq thing...had to have been a bit of a blow for him, the poor guy).

OMG, I just realized you don't do non-capslock rewatch with us, do you? You need to join. We're up to 2x05 so far.

I think it was a blow for Allan, because he did lose the two most important people in his life, and for what? A little jingle in his pockets? A little prestige? I doubt he'd have been any happier with it than Guy was deep-down. There's too much selling of the soul involved in that mess.

But I also think Allan would have believed himself not good enough for Djaq, and that he deserved Will's scorn anyway.

I haven't done any rewatches so far, but I would like to. I may come in on 2x06.
