From [livejournal.com profile] alesh101 and many others:

Lord of the Rings

01. The first character I fell in love with: Faramir
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Eomer
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Aragorn (also Legolas)
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Denethor
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: n/a
06. The character I would shag anytime: Any of the aforementioned Gondorians. And Boromir, of course!
07. The character I want to be like: Eowyn. Duh!
08. The character I'd slap: Also Eowyn, and maybe Imrahil too.
09. A pairing that I love: Faramir/Eowyn, Celeborn/Galadriel
10. A pairing that I hate: Boromir/Theodred, because Boromir deserves better than a character who is completely off-page and also quite dead when we first encounter him.
11. Favorite character: Denethor
12. My five favorite characters: Denethor, Faramir, Boromir, Eomer, Eowyn
14. Which character I am most like: Hard to say, but I eat like a hobbit, so probably Sam?
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I once wrote a very AU fic about a rival claimant for the throne of Gondor. Trufax.

Harry Potter

01. The first character I fell in love with: Dumbledore
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Remus Lupin
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Sirius Black (and possibly Severus Snape as well)
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: N/A
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Harry Potter
06. The character I would shag anytime: The aforementioned Remus Lupin
07. The character I want to be like: Minerva McGonagall
08. The character I'd slap: Ron Weasley
09. A pairing that I love: Lupin/Tonks, Arthur/Molly
10. A pairing that I hate: "Hate" is a strong word, but I'll never get the Snape/Hermione love. *mind boggles*
11. Favorite character: Remus Lupin
12. My five favorite characters: Lupin, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Voldemort
14. Which character I am most like: Hermione? IDK.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I secretly ship Draco/Hermione.

Robin Hood

01. The first character I fell in love with: Will Scarlett (yeah, yeah, I know...hard to believe!)
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Allan a Dale
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Guy of Gisborne
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: N/A
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Much
06. The character I would shag anytime: Um, does this even need repeating? ;)
07. The character I want to be like: Sheriff Vaysey
08. The character I'd slap: Robin Hood!
09. A pairing that I love: Will/Djaq, John/Alice
10. A pairing that I hate: Allan/Marian...just can't see that one AT ALL
11. Favorite character: Will Scarlett
12. My five favorite characters: Will, Allan, Djaq, Little John, Sheriff Vaysey
14. Which character I am most like: Probably Djaq.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I like Richard Armitage a lot. Just not Gisborne.

I dabble in a couple of other fandoms, but my involvement is way too limited to warrant memeage.

Thanks so much for the compliment. I appreciate it, and I wish I could convey just how much, but words, they fail me.

You never have to worry about me taking things negatively, or worrying about trouble being stirred up. If I thought you were really being negative, I probably just wouldn't engage...you know?

I find there's a lot of negativity in fandom generally, and it's worse in very big fandoms like HP and LotR. Long ago, I gave up on ever finding more than 3-4 people (you know who you are) that saw LotR as I did, and that's partly what motivated my semi-withdrawal from that fandom.

And well, there were too many BNFs, and I wasn't one of them, lol.

My only disappointment with your R/T was getting the sense you wouldn't pursue a larger fandom novella in HP verse, telling their story as you interpreted it because I would have followed that, like I did many others who wrote the pairing.

Fandom -- like anything -- is what a person chooses to make of it and so many people involved seem to suffer and be mad doing it and extend that vindictiveness onto others. Why? (rhetorical)

I don't think I have enough to say about R/T to justify something of that length/quality. Honestly, even just writing 1000 words is HARD for me. I have no idea how [livejournal.com profile] ladybracknell wrote Werewolf..., for example, because I don't think I have that many words in me!

At one time, I did have plans to write a longer fic about Lupin, and what he was up to shortly before PoA and immediately after. But I had this epiphany that nobody was really interested in my HP fic, and those stories were better just being run like little movies in my head.

(Not fishing for compliments, just reflecting...)

Fwiw, I am writing a massively long fic in the RH fandom, but I'm at 70K words, and I started it nearly two years ago, so you can imagine how old I'll be before it's finished. ;)

Oi! I'm somebody (I know what you mean, though; I probably ought to have cheerleaded louder for you, anyway, and have let you know I was enthusiastically reading your R/T.)

I am writing a massively long fic in the RH fandom

I know, which is why I also know you have it in you to do if, as you say, you have a story to tell. (I read your LoTR & have read your RH & your ofic, and with that kind of reading record, if you're still around eljay when you finish your RH novel, chances are it'll fall into my lap as well. :))

Heh heh. I had no idea anyone was still reading my LotR fic. I have a couple of WiPs there I really need to finish, incl. my Boromir fic which has languished for nearly two years now. *sigh*

I pick it up at least once a week, but the words just don't come.

The last LotR I read is the epistolary wip between Aragorn and Faramir. I've commented on everything I've read, so if there is an installment w/o a response from me, it's truly because I missed an update.

That IS, sadly, the last thing I've posted for LotR. And even that's not finished yet.

I have no idea how I got this far behind, but it started to happen when I had a kid. I'm sure there's some connection, lol.

Which is why I haven't been reading. That logic there, that's vacuum-wrapped, that's how tight it is.

I should know that you are doing this already (I don't because I am lame about digging things up), but is it still under wraps or have parts of it been let out into the world? I enjoy your stuff immensely.

Thanks for the compliment.

It's an ongoing effort, and whatever I've written so far has been posted publicly. (I used to post unedited beta chapters, but now only my beta-ed stuff goes up here).

You can find it at [livejournal.com profile] roh_fics. Just tag-search with "passages". Also, I'm at FFN (same username, but w/o the underscore), so you can find it there too. The latest chapter should have links to older chapters too.

Oh, I did start reading that and then lost track of it. I loved that one and think about it often, wondering where it how it has gone. I'm going to go back and re-read from the beginning as soon as this spam challenge is over and my brain is not thinking in code.

I was tempted to type something in the [livejournal.com profile] omteddy2006 version of the code. Just as a red herring. But even I'm not that evil. ;)

If nothing else, my ten-key skills are growing through this. Had we used hers, I am confident I could have mastered it by now.

It's a pretty cool code.

I used to be able to do it, when I was a bank teller. I've since lost the touch. I was never terribly fast, but I could do it.
